My name’s James Kelly. I’m an industry expert, certified pool technician, and avid lover of all things aquatic. If there’s someone to learn about pool equipment and maintenance from, it would definitely be me.
In my beautiful homeland of New York, where I still reside today, pools are everywhere. Needless to say, I learned to love water at a young age. With my love of water and pools in particular, it was only natural that I follow a career path in the swimming pool industry.
After nearly a decade of working as a pool contractor and getting my hands calloused from working with rebar, rocks, and concrete every day, I switched disciplines and started my own pool cleaning and maintenance company. Twenty years have passed since then, and I’ve never regretted the decision once.
Working as a pool technician, however, I’m constantly asked about pool heaters, pool equipment and other equipment. In fact, that’s actually why I started this site. Rather than spend 10 minutes a week per customer answering the same questions over and over, I decided to create an online resource to send them to, allowing them to learn about pools and pool equipment from A to Z.
